Located at the top of Rio do Rastro sierra surrounding São Joaquim National Park, Rio do Rastro Eco Resort is at the entrance of the mountain plateau at about 230 km from the capital of Florianopolis at 28° 23’ south latitude and 49° 33’ west latitude. The climate in this region is temperate due to its altitude of about 1,500m and its proximity to the sea, resulting in an annual average temperature of 12° C. This is just one of the characteristics that makes this place special and unique, since there are lakes, falls, cascades, native wildlife and stunning nature, which cause this region to be one of the most beautiful places in Brazil and the world.

This place is ideal for those looking for adventure and/or peace. The architecture here makes you feel beyond the place with some kind of unrevealed mystery; here you can also enjoy the beautiful and magical nature. So, located over Rio do Rastro sierra canyon, in a marvelous location, Rio do Rastro Eco Resort was designed and built with a basic principle: to create a place where to relax and have contact with nature in a direct and simple way. The facilities of the place offer you all the amenities you need to feel comfortable, and the best ways to explore the land on the sierra.

Rio do Rastro Eco Resort guests can enjoy several carefully planned trips and expeditions. Each day, they can choose some of the 20 expeditions. They should be chosen according to the climate, hostages' wish, duration and difficulty level.

On foot, by horse, or on 4x4 trucks, and accompanied by our bilingual and experienced guides, we will be enraptured by the live nature of the Fields of Cima da Serra. On expeditions, there is a maximum of 10 people per guide with their corresponding equipment.

At Rio do Rastro, every day is a good day. Neither the sun nor the rain will frighten us. Some frost, wind, or a calm day, all is part of the experience. What matters is to be well equipped so as to enjoy all the adventures regardless the climate, and know that a cozy hotel is waiting for us on our return.
