Hike to the mystic rocks in Sacred Rock Park

Make a walking-tour on one of the most beautiful trails in Florianopolis. After a climb through the Atlantic rainforest, enjoy the unique view overlooking a big part of "Lagoa da Conceição" and of the famous beaches "Praia Mole", "Praia Galheta", "Praia Barra da Lagoa" and "Praia Mocambique". During this walking-tour, you will also get to know an important nature conservation project, which protects the Atlantic rainforest in Florianopolis. Furthermore, the project will give you fascinating insights and knowledge about the customs of the original local inhabitants, who lived on the "Ilha da Magia" (Island of Magic) 5000 years ago.

We will start the walking-tour on the east of the island, close to "Barra da Lagoa". Here, you will meet the guide of the project "Salve Floripa". He will draw on his expertise to tell you about local flora and fauna and the impressive stone formations which you will discover during the walking-tour. The trail, which is suitable for beginners, leads you for about 1 hour through the Atlantic rainforest up to the mountain top, where you will reach the "Pedra da Oração" (prayer stone). On the mountain top, take a deep breath and enjoy the fantastic view before learning more about the ancient inhabitants and their customs, and about the significance of their relationship to the position of the sun and the earth.
